When the Church was consecrated in 1847 the first parish priest Alexander Henderson modestly but aptly summed up our building in these words
…..”The building will be found not un-meet for its sacred purpose. Anxious to raise a House in some measure becoming as an offering to Almighty God and suitable for the due performance of the services of the Church, we are convinced that the beauty and fitness of the design and style will approve themselves to the congregation and their friends.” Today our values and purposes are clear. St. Mary’s is For All We acknowledge that God’s gifts empower us to use our capabilities and celebrate our Christian inheritance by: · Worship and prayer · Expressing that generosity to others · Recognising that in giving we receive · Sharing peace & action with all people
We are currently seeking an inclusive and generous church community working in partnership with other charities and the wider community.
